8th Grade Mackinac Island Trip!

Dear 8^th Grade Parents,

As you know it’s time to start getting excited about transitioning your child from a middle schooler to a high schooler! It is such an exciting time for them! One way we have traditionally celebrated is with our annual Mackinaw Island day trip on June 1st!

This year we are planning to leave CMHS at 8am by school bus to the Sheppler Dock. We will catch the 9:30 ferry to the Island where students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities listed below. They will sign up to participate in the activities in their 5^th hour class. We will return on the 3:00 ferry and return to CMHS at 4:30 where you will pick up your child. The cost of the round trip ferry is $20 per student. This amount is due to your 5^th hour teacher on May 25^th!!!

Fort Mackinaw $12

Ryba’s Bike Rental $4 per hour 2 hour minimum

Butterfly House $9

Miniature Golf at “The Greens of Mackinaw” $10

Horseback Riding “Jack’s Livery Stable” $45 per hour

Souviner Shopping $ (your choice)

Beach free

Arch Rock free

Island run with Mr. D. Drenth free

Horse in History Museum free

Lunch

8^th graders can choose to have a lunch packed by school, bring lunch from home or go out to an island restaurant (usually $10 and up). If your child would like a school packed lunch he/she needs to let their 5^th hour teacher know NO LATER than May 25^th!
